Dreams do come true!
Little did John Millar know, back in 1830 when he founded New Dundee, how many shared dreams would come true for the benefit of our community. Today, thanks to the dedication, hard work, generosity and fundraising efforts of our service clubs, businesses and countless individual volunteers, we have Maple Heights Seniors’ Apartment, New Dundee Community Centre, Optimist Park, Heritage Gardens, flower barrels, park benches and a flower bed in the traffic island of our main intersection.
Today we dream of a better place to play!
Two new fully serviced baseball diamonds will be built behind the New Dundee Community Centre on land purchased for this purpose by Wilmot Township 24 years ago. These will replace the diamonds in the existing park, which for many years have been plagued with safety concerns.
Major upgrades will be made to the existing park, including: a new toddler/children’s playground, closer to the Band Shell; a multi-use sports court for basketball and hockey; resurfaced tennis courts; a small parking area near the Heritage Gates; a paved walking path, landscaping, additional trees and benches.
